A HUGE Thank you to everyone who donated toward Gibbs’ surgery! He is doing so well and loving his pain-free life!!!!
This is a current photo of Gibbs!
Our earlier post: Gibbs had TECA surgery yesterday on both ears at Angell Animal Medical Center and the veterinary surgeon called this morning with the wonderful words “he’s doing fine!”
The surgery took 3 hours, both ear canals were closed and as hard as bone, but he’s not experiencing any post-surgery complications. He should go home tomorrow!
Thank you to all of you who gave so generously and helped to make this very expensive procedure possible. You have given Gibbs a second chance! He can now live a long and pain-free life!
Woof and thank you again from all of us at CSRNE.

Gibbs needs our help!
This adorable 3 year old cocker was just 6 months old when his allergies caused chronic ear infections and now he needs surgery to alleviate his constant pain and discomfort.
Right now, Gibbs can’t even chew on his favorite bone and he yelps if his ears are touched.
Gibbs needs Total Bilateral Ear Ablation (TECA) which involves the complete removal of both ear canals and middle ears. This procedure is done by a veterinary specialist and CSRNE has an appointment for Gibbs on January 13, 2025 at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston.
This surgery is expensive (approximately $5,600 per ear), but Gibbs will be free of the pain and ear infections he now endures. He will again be the happy, playful, young cocker he once was.
Your donation will go to our Joey Fund which pays for the expensive medical procedures that many of our rescue cockers need.
Gibbs deserves a second chance at life!
