Charlie – Adopted July 21, 2025

Charlie is an adorable, neutered, 11 year old male cocker.  He is sweet and affectionate.

Our volunteer who visited Charlie said he is one of the cutest cockers she has ever met!  Charlie was delighted to have someone who had come just to meet him and he spent a lot of time soliciting petting and having his back end scratched.

Charlie was the husband’s constant companion and when this man died 3 years ago, Charlie missed him terribly – he still goes and sits next to his truck.  Charlie went everywhere with his devoted owner.

Charlie needs a home with people who are around a lot of the time.  He’s an affectionate dog who thrives on human companionship.

Charlie is also an active dog who is used to running in a large yard/field area.  He’ll need a large, fenced area or he could be taken out on a ‘long line’ arrangement where he could safely run and play while under his owner’s control.

Charlie loves his crate.  The door is always left open so he can come and go as he likes.  He enjoys his soft, cuddly blanket and he likes to sleep in his crate with the door open.  

Charlie is fine with other dogs and children – he does, however, bark at cats.  He goes to the door when he has to go potty.  He should be taken outside every 4-6 hours.  He’s also had to have some teeth removed so he should be fed a soft diet.

This happy, small (22 lbs), very personal cocker just celebrated his 11th birthday.  He’s a healthy, active dog when he’s outside and he settles well when inside the house.
