Bently is a sweet, happy cocker boy! Our volunteer who met him said “he’s super – a really nice dog!”. Bently loves people – he met our volunteer with enthusiastic tail wags. He was delighted to meet someone who came just to meet him.
10 year old Bentley’s owners are reluctantly giving him up for adoption. They are moving to Arizona and Bentley does not like the heat. He loves to be outdoors and he especially loves to play in the snow.
Bentley has a doggy door so he can come and go into a big, fenced yard. His owner says he’s a country dog and would do well in a rural home. He enjoys going for leash walks and has good leash manners. He also loves to swim.
Bentley does want to be the only pet in the home and has never lived with cats.
Bentley’s owners describe him as “a great, happy, loving, family dog.” He likes children, he’s housebroken, likes car rides, loves to be patted and just wants to be with people who would enjoy the company of a very well-behaved dog.

UPDATE – Recently, Bentley spent time with 2 other dogs he’d never met before. One dog was a young, very active lab who wanted to play with Bentley – Bentley did not appreciate this interaction. When the lab gave up trying to get Bentley to romp with him, Bentley laid down and ignored the lab.
The other dog he met was an older, quieter dog. The two of them sniffed each other and then laid down and patiently waited to go home.
Bentley’s owner feels he’s do better as an only dog but he could live with another older, quiet dog.
